FAQs
Below are just some of the Frequently Asked Questions regarding life at Odeno.
Please contact the Board if you have a question you don't see addressed.
Do I need to submit a formal request for this?
Great question! Generally speaking, any updates to the public-facing property of your lot require a formal request.
Common requests the Board reviews include:
adding or modifying a shed to your property,
adding or removing any landscaping,
adjusting the size of your driveway,
adding a curb strip for parking along the road, or
adding or adjusting a deck or patio.
Requests can now be filed online via our electronic form
Or, via paper and mailed to the board at:

Was that person speeding?
As a Board, we have worked hard to address the perceived issue of speeding over the past year through a lot of community action. We have had our best success through direct action -- calling delivery companies, talking to trades working in Odeno directly, knocking on a neighbor's door whom you believe is driving fast.
Direct Action Options:
Delivery Trucks - Call companies and provide feedback with license and vehicle description.
Amazon - 1-888-280-4331
USPS - Muskegon Heights Branch, Odeno's Post Office - 231-733-2434
FedEx - 1.800.463.3339
UPS - 1-888-742-5877
School Busses - Contact Kathy Randall, Fruitport Transportation Department at (231) 865-3196
Fellow Odeno Community Members - A friendly conversation can go a long way. Here are some possible talking points to help create and maintain a safe and positive community.
Please remind yourself and any guests that our speed limit is 20 mph, but slower is always welcome!
Please drive with care! We have many children, pets and other wildlife on or near our streets!
Remember to take it slow on our curves, anyone could be around the corner!
If your attempts to directly take action don't help, the Board can send a letter, but it's hard to address something we don't have explicit proof of. Please Contact the Board should you need assistance.
Many have asked about increasing legal signage or changing the speed limit, but unfortunately, Odeno has been planned and approved as safe and appropriate with the Township. Additionally, changing the Planned Unit Developed (PUD) requires the Association pay for surveys, studies, civil engineers, approval by 911-Emergency, all construction costs, etc. At this time, this is not something the Association will look into further.
When are dues due?
Dues for each year are requested by January 1st. Dues are always paid in advance for the upcoming year. Currently, the Board allows annual (January 1) or semi-annual payments (January 1/July 1).
Payments via check made out to 'Odeno Association' can be mailed to:
Odeno Association
2454 Odawa Trail
Muskegon, MI 49444
Or, online via our electronic payment platform.
Whom do I contact about a mailbox key/lock issue?
The Postal Boxes -- officially called a Collection Box Unit (CBU) -- are official property of the United States Postal Service. Any issues with the CBU should be reported to the local post office for resolve.
Information About the CBUs at Odeno:
" The U.S. Postal Service recently revised regulations concerning the issuance of keys to customers' who receive mail as you do. The regulations state that the customer will receive all three (3) of the keys. You may duplicate the keys at your own expense. If you should lose all of your keys, there will be a ($40) forty dollar charge to replace the lock and receive (3) three new keys."
If your lock should break or you lose all keys, call the Muskegon Post Office at (231) 722-7292, Monday- Friday between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm to report your problem.
You will need to provide your name, address, and a working phone number in order for the maintenance department to make an appointment to change your lock and get keys to you.
